Thankyou for choosing to purchase the Australian Asterisk PBX Prompts.
The Asterisk
package is a Zipped file containing the sound prompt files.
The method below uses WGET so can
be completed using your Asterisk Terminal interface.
You may need putty Click
If you have not already purchased the Asterisk Sounds, please Click Here
1. Open a terminal window to your Asterisk PBX. The screenshots are from PBX in a Flash, yours may look different.
2. Change Directory to /usr/src
(You may use a different directory, this is just a working directory while we move around some files)
When you completed the purchase, you should have received a download link. Use WGET to download the file
eg. WGET "http://voicestudio.com.au/index.php?_g=dl&pid=2&oid=KASJNCjajsUIAI7772118989821Aasa"
Make sure you have the quotations around the URL, then press enter.

Your file will download (41MB total) and the filename AsteriskAustralia.zip

After download, enter unzip AsteriskAustralia.zip and press enter.
You should see the files extracted.
Archive: AsteriskAustralia.zip
inflating: instruct.html
inflating: core_wav.tar.gz
inflating: a2billing.tar.gz
inflating: extra_wav.tar.gz
Backup your existing sounds directory. This will preserve all sounds incase you ever need to go back.
tar cvfz backupsounds.tar.gz /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/ [enter]

Extract the core sounds into the /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/ directory.
tar zxvf core_wav.tar.gz -C /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/ [enter]
Repeat for the extra sounds into the /var/lib/asterisk/sounds directory
tar zxvf extra_wav.tar.gz -C /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/ [enter]
